An Honest Look At XTiP (Formerly Cashpoint) Betting Site

In today’s Betting Sites review, we’ll be taking a look at the rather optimistically titled Cashpoint to see if the site delivers on the promises implied by its name. But hold on a second: the plot thickens. Once you log into the site, it automatically changes to a different online operator called XTiP.

We’re not sure of the reason for the name change, but having the site essentially redirect us is a little unnerving and doesn’t leave the best first impression. We thought we’d point this out, as if you’ve heard comments about Cashpoint and XTiP, you may be confused as to what people are talking about. As far as we can tell, the two sites are one and the same.

For the purposes of this review, as it appears to be what it now goes as, we’ll be referring to the site as XTip. It’s a name as painfully dull as its predecessor.

Nonetheless, there’s more to a site than just a name, so let’s not judge the book by its cover and get on with figuring out whether this is a site worth your consideration.

There’s plenty to think about when looking for an online gaming home: whether you’re wanting a top of the line sportsbook, like Ladbrokes, looking for casino exclusives like Las Vegas USA or Mansion Casino, or want the best of both worlds with a sports betting and casino hybrid, such as the likes of TLC Bet, BetOlimp or BetEast.

There’s even some very niche sites out there to meet every gaming demand known to man. These range from sites that focus exclusively on fantasy gaming, like Blitzfantasy, to ones that focus mainly on one single sport, like Punchbets. They may even have an entirely different banking system to most, like Bitstarz focus on the digital Bitcoin currency.

For starters, XTiP is both a casino and sportsbook site without any particular niches that are immediately apparent. This puts it in the league with some of the biggest names in online betting, including  William Hill and Coral.

That’s some pretty tough competition to come up against then. In order to wage through the vast array of online rivals, we’ll be asking all the important questions that every player should have. We’ll be providing you with those vital answerers in order for you to make an informed decision on where you want to spend your time and your hard earned money.

While we always remain as objective as possible, there is always an amount of personal taste involved that we can’t account for. With that in mind, we would always suggest that you spend a decent amount of time getting to grips with a site for yourself, along with some of their competition, so you know if it suits your preferences.

What do we mean by that? Well, take Virgin Casino and Sportsbook and Royal Panda Casino for example. They are both truly excellent sites with a very different design philosophy and personality. Perhaps these things aren’t as important as the product itself but they do still have an impact on your enjoyment and with so much choice out there, you’ve got plenty of space to be picky.

Now we’ve got all that out of the way, let’s waste no more time and get on with the review!

  1. So, what is the XTiP site design like then?

XTiP home page

As we mentioned above, this is the site element that is most likely to come down to personal tastes. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t take a look and give you an overview of how we think the general reaction will turn out, alongside comments on the more practical elements of the site design.

XTiP is a fairly simple site. There’s no mascots, like the ones that populate the pages of SuperLenny or BGO for example. That is, of course, unless you count the little sun that is next to its logo. Other than that, it keeps things simple.

The structure of its sportsbook is pretty much typical of most, aside from the rather chunky choice of main toolbar at the top of the page. The casino pretty much consists of a promotional video to the top of the screen and then some tiled game choices and options for better browsing below.

XTiP sportsbetting

If you like your sites relatively simple and fuss free, you may have a home here at XTiP sportsbetting and casino.

Technically speaking, the site runs very well, is responsive and is very easy to navigate and understand. This comes as a consequence of their simple design philosophy no doubt. In fact, the site runs a great deal better and faster than its slightly rustic appearance might suggest, with smoothly running videos and promotion sliders adding a dash of colour onto their otherwise drab grey pages.

On the other hand

Their choice of background colour is oddly cold and metallic and it does not reflect their logo’s sunny demeanor. Ultimately, this is a site in search of a personality. Is it debauched like Rich Casino? Upmarket like Grosvenor Casino? Or minimalistic yet stoically efficient like Virgin Casino and Sportsbook? XTiP ends up in between all of these.

This lack of a distinct identity is perhaps shown the most clearly in their casino page, where their rather high tech video promotions seems utterly at odds with the very basic page layout.

We can’t imagine anyone finding XTiP’s design particularly jarring, but it’s hard to imagine anyone getting really excited about it either. Say what you like about the polarising and ultra modern likes of Rizk Casino, at the very least they illicit responses from people.

  1. So what exactly does XTiP have to offer?

On a basic level, XTiP has a sportsbook, casino, live casino and mobile app, which means players can enjoy its offering while on the go via their smartphone or tablet device. The sportsbook also includes live betting options.

The following sports are available on the XTiP site:

  • Football
  • Champions League
  • Europa League
  • Shlag den Stay
  • Ice Hockey
  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Handball
  • Baseball
  • Volleyball
  • E-sports
  • Darts
  • Formula 1
  • Nascar
  • Rally
  • Motorcycle
  • Boxing
  • Cycling
  • Rugby
  • Golf
  • Waterpolo
  • Curling
  • Futsal
  • Aussie Rules
  • Bowls
  • Cricket
  • Longterm bets

It’s a good selection overall, with plenty to keep most sports fan feeling satisfied.

On the other hand

First of all, although the sportsbook has, on the face of it, a good game selection, all is not exactly as it seems. Quite a few of the more obscure picks currently have no bets available, meaning they are void at the time of writing.

We’re not sure how well this reflects in general, because we don’t know how often these bets come up over a period of a  few months for example. But it certainly is a downer on an otherwise very fine variety of sports picks.

XTiP live casino

Unfortunately, the casino falls short as well. It features a limited selection of games, especially compared to the big casino names out there. It’s by no means the worst we have seen but it’s definitely not the best either. Funnily enough, the live casino selection is actually quite a bit better compared to the competition, with an above average selection of live casino games.

Overall, we’d say that the site is just about average in this regard. We may go as far to say it’s perhaps a touch higher if we’re feeling generous.

  1. What promotions are available at XTiP?

In today’s oversaturated and cut throat online betting market, a site just can’t compete without a good selection of offers. They’ve become the icing on the online betting cake to entice in new players and reward loyal customers.

Unfortunately, XTiP appears to be a rather no-frills offering, with a measly welcome bonus and not much else going for it.

XTiP Welcome Bonus

On the other hand

We were unable to find any good information on the site regarding promotions. They are mentioned but details appear rather hard to come by. This is a concern, as most sites shout about their offers and promotions to their customers at every given opportunity. It is also important that the terms and conditions are always clear, to keep transparency with customers and assure them that those sweeteners aren’t going to turn sour.

The only promotion we could find reference to was a £100 welcome bonus. According to other sites, the bonus available in this promotion is up to £150. The suggestion from our research is that the wagering requirement is 40 times, which is above average. Furthermore, this can only be utilised via slot games, which puts another downer on an already flawed offer.

Obviously this isn’t good enough, even if we were certain of the terms and conditions, which unfortunately, we are not. It’s a very poor showing on the promotions front from XTiP.

  1. Do they have good customer service?

XTiP support

Even the very best of betting sites will inevitably have customers who face issues from time to time. That’s why good customer support is essential, to quickly and efficiently answer any questions that players may have.

In regards to XTiP, we haven’t heard too much negative from customers regarding the sites customer service.

On the other hand

While we haven’t heard too much negative, we haven’t heard too much positive either. Or much of anything as a matter of fact. The issue with trying to assess a site with as little online following as XTiP is that it is hard to gage the general perception of their customers with any kind of accuracy. This is also an issue we have with regards to assessing their reputation in general.

Their customer service appears to be available solely via an e-mail, with no suggestion as to when you might expect a response. On the plus side though, we can confirm that their reputation in this regard is actually quite good.

So, XTiP probably is decent in terms of their customer support, but we can’t be sure, with more options and information needed.

  1. What’s their reputation like in general?

Gambling Commission

In terms of licensing, there’s little to dispute. XTiP are licensed by both the United Kingdom Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. These are the top two regulating authorities that can be found anywhere in the world. You can therefore rest assured that XTiP operates above board, with security, privacy and fairness at the forefront of their minds.

On the other hand

Much like our comments on their customer service, we unfortunately don’t have much to go on in terms of public response. The critical response appears to be around average, but there’s not too much feedback in that regard either.

We therefore can’t say for certain what an average view might be of their customers. Ultimately though, it is your opinion that matters the most. That is why, as we mentioned previously, we always recommend that you take some time to check out a site like XTiP for yourself. This will give you a feel as to whether its aesthetic, personality and offering is in line with your preferences before you even click that ‘Sign Up’ button.

  1. So what do we think of XTiP overall?

XTiP logo

From the word go, XTiP appears to be a confusing site. This is evident straight off the bat with its odd redirection from the Cashpoint website. It honestly seems to be an unfinished product. More games are needed, along with more promotions, more information and more customer service options. It needs more of just about everything.

In terms of site design, XTiP is nice, although it could use a dash or two of inspiration here and there. The overall impression we get from XTiP is that it’s a blueprint for what might later become a great betting site. For this one, we guess it’s a case of having to wait and see.
