Is The Winner Online Casino & Sportsbook A Winner In Our Eyes?

In this review, we’ll be taking a look at the rather confidently titled Winner casino site. We’ll be diving right in to see if their products really live up to their self inflicted hype or not.

Winner.com is an all in one site. This means that, unlike sites like Royal Panda Casino and Rich Casino, they focus on more than one thing. So there’s both a casino and a sportsbook.

While you might think that this inherently means that an “all in one” site, as they are known, must be better due to sheer content. That’s not necessarily the case. The customers that aren’t interested in sports betting may find that casino exclusive sites have a great deal to offer. The best of the bunch, like Foxy Casino Casino and Manhattan Slots offer a product that few can live up to.

In fact, some casino sites are so good, it might still be worth your while to check them out even if you’re already signed up to another site. This is especially true if you find the casino elements of your chosen all in one site to be somewhat lacking.

We do take into account the fact that there are different expectations for different kinds of sites in these reviews. For example, judging a casino site harshly for not having the same variety of content as an all in one site would be rather unfair. When people sign up for a site like Mansion Casino for example, that’s what they expected and what they signed up for.

On a similar token though, a casino exclusive site which has flaws in its games will be judged more harshly than an all in one site would. This is because there isn’t much else for it to fall back on.

Another way we keep our reviews fair and balanced is by considering both the good and bad points of each question we ask.

However unbiased we try to be though, we understand that some things come down to personal taste. So if you want to get completely informed after reading this review, it would be a good idea to check out the site. We also recommend that you spend some time looking at their competition too before signing up. This is the best way to get a clear idea of which casino site best suit your individual tastes and interests.

So, with introductions out of the way, let’s take a look at the most important things you’ll want to know before signing up to the Winner online casino.

  1. What is available on the Winner site?

Winner casino games

Well, as mentioned, Winner is an all in one site. This also includes a poker section, which is something that much of its competition is lacking. Perhaps it is not PokerStars just yet but it’s better than no option.

More specifically the Winner casino has slots, card games, roulette, live games, video poker, arcade games and jackpots. There’s also a Vegas section. But as far as we can tell, this is just another selection of games. We’re not sure why it needs another section, but there it is.

In terms of the software used for its games. Winner uses Playtech. They offer over 100 game titles, including many classics that long time players should be familiar with.

A nice little touch is the inclusion of gaming guides and even information regarding strategy. This is a great way to help new players hit the ground running. That might not seem like much, but additions like that really add up to being more than the sum of their parts.

There’s also table games, with the variety ranging from roulette to pontoon.

On the sport book side of things, the following options are available to bet on at the time of writing:

  • Football
  • Horse Racing
  • Tennis
  • American Football
  • Australian Rules Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketabll
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Entertainment
  • eSports
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Ice Hockey
  • MMA
  • Motor Sport
  • Politics
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Table Tennis
  • Volleyball

All in all, it’s a pretty decent selection

On the other hand

While 100 games might sound like a lot, compared to the big players in the online casino market, it is a mere drop in the ocean. Similarly the sports betting list is not the largest we’ve ever seen.

Players will probably find plenty here to keep them occupied. However, in such a competitive online gaming market, Winner really need to step up their game offering in order to keep up with the pack.

  1. Is the Winner site well designed?

Winner casino site design

This is a question that can be tricky to answer due to its objective nature. So let’s start off with the easy stuff.

Technically speaking, we have found absolutely no issues with the Winner site. It runs smoothly and is easy to use. Its structure is also well laid out. Although there is the odd case of doubling up on links throughout the site, it’s nothing too distracting.

Aesthetically, we think that a lot of people will like how this site manages to keep things simple without ever coming across as being overly cold. A minimalistic style has become very popular with gaming sites these days. Some of the biggest sites in the world, such as Virgin Sportsbook and Casino for example, benefit from a ‘less is more’ approach.

In fact, if you look at it popularity wise, you’ll find that many of the most successful betting sites on the net stay pretty conservative when it comes to their design choices. Winner is definitely taking a leaf out of their book with its more stripped back appearance. And as far as simple designs go, it is at the very least a very colourful and vibrant version of it.

On the other hand

While the site does come out looking quite good compared to other all in one sites, it falls a little short of some of the best casino sites out there.

While minimalistic looks may be proving popular for betting sites as a whole, casino sites have long enjoyed a little more creative flair (for the most part) when compared to the design of their all in one competitors. There’s a few reasons for this.

One is that styles tend to snowball. When one site has a look that proves successful with their players, other tend to emulate it. This multiples over the years until one site’s daring and innovative design becomes more common.

Another reason is because sports betting sites come from a more traditional background. The established players already used that simplistic design. So it only makes sense that new online sportsbook follow suite.

Casino sites have long enjoyed being the most creative (for the most part) design wise over their all in one competitors. There’s a few reasons for this. One is that styles tend to snowball. When one site has a look that works, others tend to emulate it and that multiples over the years.

Another is because sports betting sites come from a more traditional background. The established players already had that look. Lastly, there’s the simple fact that having less to publish frees up space to be creative. And while it is true that if you looked at the most popular betting sites you would likely find that they were conservative, the same is not necessarily true for casino sites.

Look at the big branding of Foxy Casino and BGO for starters. Even smaller sites like Jupiter Club tend to throw a little caution to the wind.

Some people will miss that bombastic style here.

There’s also an issue of personality. When you look at Winner alongside many of its competitors, there’s not too much looks wise that makes it stands out.

Overall we’d say that Winner though certainly has the edge on most of its competitors. But, we wanted to keep things fair so we’d say overall in terms of design, we’d put it at the high end of all in one sites and somewhat in the middle compared to casino exclusives.

  1. What customer service options do they have?

Winner customer support

We’ll start off with the good news. Winner has 24/7 phone lines that are toll free. Their staff also respond reasonably quickly to e-mail enquiries.

On the other hand

Unfortunately, they do not have any live chat option. This is obviously a huge let down for any site as it’s the only real way to compete in terms of customer service options. Without it, they’ll always be lagging at the back of the pack, at least in this regard.

Having support available around the clock is a massive bonus for both the site and its customers. Without that, even with the friendliest customer service team in the world, you’re fighting a losing battle.

  1. Do they have a good reputation?

By reputation, we mean what’s the general impression of Winner based on the feedback available through critical reviews and customer responses.

The good news is is there appears to be a sizeable portion of good to very good reviews. These are both from critics and from customers.

Winner.com mobile

On the other hand

The bad news is there’s also a great deal of bad reviews. And the ones that aren’t happy give the Winner site some really bad scores.

There are quite simply more bad reviews than there are good ones and some of them are extremely low. Now in Winner’s defence, it is not unusual for sites to occasionally have very aggressively negative responses from certain customers. This is a business where large sums of money are being transferred, so things can get heated.

However, the fact that in our research. the pendulum appears to sway overwhelmingly to negative responses is a disappointment.

  1. Do they have any good promotions?

On the face of it, Winner appears to have a strong selection of promotions. These feature prominently via a link on the main toolbar of the homepage.

There are ten in total for the sportsbook and four for its casino. That’s not too shabby. 14 is certainly better than most.

We’ll be taking a closer look at three from both the casino and the sportsbook to give you a better idea of what to expect in terms of quality. Obviously the rest will be available to find from the site itself.

Casino offers:

First Deposit Bonus:
Winner first deposit bonus
Receive a 200% deposit bonus up to £300. The wagering requirement is 30 times, which is a little better than average.

2nd Deposit Bonus:
Winner 2nd Deposit Bonus
This is a 60% bonus up to £300 on your second deposit. It carries the same wagering requirement as above.

Free Spins Tuesday:
Winner Free Spins Tuesday
Get up to 60 free spins every Tuesday with each deposit of £20.

Sportsbook offers:

New Account Offer:
Winner new account offer
This is a100% bonus up to £200. According to its terms and conditions, it would appear that the wagering requirement is 8 times. If true, this is excellent. However, it can be hard to tell as their writing is convoluted and tricky to understand in this instance.

Golf Free Bet if 2nd or 3rd:
Winner golf free bet
A simple bonus here. If your golf outright bet finishes second or third, you will receive the win part of your stake back up to £25.

Beaten by a Length:
Winner beaten by a length promo
If you place a win or each way bet on a horse on a selection of meeting provided by the site and the horse is beaten by a length or less, you will receive the win part of your stake back up to £25.

Overall, what we can see is that Winner is about quality as well as quantity, at least in terms of its promotions. They are practical and offer real value to the customer.

On the other hand

Generally that last statement does stand. However, there are a few niggling issues in the terms and conditions.

One is that they are often simply hard to understand and are not explained clearly. Another is that in the case of the second deposit, the quality of the bet collapses considerably due to a drop in percentage. Finally, they often have high minimum bets, around the £35 mark, which makes them out of reach for some more casual players.

Furthermore, we would say that, while many of these promotions are very practical, they do lack any kind of creative spark. Some originality here would really help Winner to stand out.

  1. So what is out final verdict on Winner?

Winner logo

The reviews for this site are pretty much the opposite of how we felt about it. Most critics and customers appeared to be passionately impressed or completely unimpressed. When it comes to Winner’s site design and offering, we felt neither.

This seems like a casino site that just doesn’t have anything that makes it stand out from its huge array of competition. Its games, design, promotions and various other site elements are all just fine. It’s nothing too disappointing but nothing too exciting either.

Hopefully the Winner online casino will iron out these wrinkles and leave those bad reviews in the dust in the not too distant future. As for us, we’d have to put Winner in the middle of the pack.
