That’s where we come in! Here at Betting Sites Comparison, it’s our mission to give you the most comprehensive guide of the good, the bad and the ugly of betting sites throughout the world wide web.

TonyBet advert

Today we’re looking at TonyBet: a betting sites that’s both a sportsbook and a casino. This means we’ll be comparing it to the likes of betting juggernaut Centrebet, William Hill, Bet365 and much, much more. We’ll also take a look at lesser known sites, such as Digibet, JenningsBet and TLCbet so you can get the full overview of where TonyBet lands among the competition.

In order to comes to a conclusion as to whether we think TonyBet is worth your time and hard earned cash, we’ll be asking all the important questions regarding product quality, customer service and the reputation of TonyBe just for starters. This will help you be in the know before signing up to this or any other betting site.

With that in mind, we always advise our readers that, although we do go as far as we can to give you the best idea of what we think you’ll get out of the site, there are certain things that are down to you. Aesthetics, personality and even what priorities you have when looking for a betting site are all down to preference.

That’s why we always recommend that if this review is step one on your betting site odyssey, then step two is taking a good look at the site itself. Make sure you also take a good look around some of their competition as well, so you can get a clear idea of what works best for you.

Now all that has been said, we think it’s time to get down to business and ask those all important questions about TonyBet.

  1. Does their site and customer service have a good reputation?

TonyBet Contact Us

A great start when looking at any betting site is to find out how they treat their customers. This is a pretty good indication of whether or not the overall site will be something worth checking out.

On the plus side, here we’ve got e-mail, a phone number and that all important live chat feature for customer support.

With regards to their reputation, we’ll start with the most important element of any site’s feedback and that’s security. TonyBet is protected by SSL encryption, which has become the measuring stick and industry standard by which all information security is measured today.

SSL encryption

Essentially, this means that all your private information, including banking information, is kept under virtual lock and key. It also means your case sensitive passwords, address, contact details and everything else important are protected. This stops any cyber criminals from being able to read information sent to and from the online operator for both registration and banking purposes.

So, we’re all clear on that score.

As far as the games at TonyBet go, they are all fully tested by NMi, which are an auditing company who test out online casino games for their fairness. Having been tested and approved by this independent company essentially means that TonyBet’s games are fair and random.

On the other hand

TonyBet live chat

Their live cha support is not open 24/7 and is only available between 8am and 7pm. That’s far too early a finish in our opinion and only marginally better than the likes of Cashino in this regard.

Although it’s great for a site to have all those security measures in place, they’re really only a basic requirement for a person to consider signing up. After all, there’s hundreds of sites out there that are trustworthy. So to stand out from the crowd, they need to offer something a little more in terms of service and product than simply not being a scam site.

Having a look at both the critical and public response, on both counts we can say that the site seems to have one of the most polarised responses we’ve ever seen. Both player and professional reviews seem to judge the site with either great praise or deep scorn.

In this sense, the reputation for TonyBet is a hard one to assess. We suppose then we’d have to weigh the average response to be somewhere in the middle. The very harsh responses and claims of slow payouts by some customer are worrying. This makes us think that perhaps TonyBet has had a huge change in the quality of its service over time or needs to be more consistent with its product.

We always say that it’s pretty much impossible for any site, even big gaming goliaths like Ladbrokes or Grosvenor, to go without customer complaints. However, the marmite nature of this response is beyond wha we would consider usual.

  1. So what exactly does TonyBet have to offer as a product?

As we’ve mentioned before, TonyBet is both a betting site and an online casino. This does put a little less pressure on them to be up to the level of Manhattan Slots or Rich Casino as a dedicated casino site (as most sites are either casino or both, with the exception of the odd site like Totesport). However, it does mean that they have to offer more quality across the board.

TonyBet sportsbook

On the sportsbook side of things, the following sports are available at TonyBet:

  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Ice Hockey
  • Volleyball
  • Baseball
  • Formula 1
  • American Football
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Aussie Rules
  • Cycling
  • Snooker
  • Entertainment
  • Politics
  • Specials
  • Darts
  • Cricket
  • Boxing
  • Martial Arts
  • GolF
  • E-Sports

Overall, it’s a decent line up. It’s certainly not the most varied you’ll find but there’s enough there to satisfy most punters. The addition of E-Sports, something that some of their competitors choose to ignore, is very welcome.

TonyBet casino games

In terms of the casino, there’s a pretty impressive selection here of slots and table games, with a particular focus on poker. The site after all is fronted by top poker player Tony G, in the same vain that Blitzfantasy is fronted by fellow poker player Dan Bilzerian and, perhaps somewhat less relevantly, BGO is fronted by actor Verne Troyer. It must be said though that while we’re aware of his involvement with TonyBet, he doesn’t seem to be featured prominently at the time of writing.

The live casino is also excellent, featuring roulette, blackjack, casino Hold’em, baccarat and Caribbean stud poker. The site also offers a mobile app, so you can bet and game while on the go.

On the other hand

There’s not much to complain about here. All we can say is that the sportsbook could offer some more obscure selections to make sure all their customers’ sporting needs are satisfied.

Also the mobile app doesn’t include all the features and games that are on the site. This means that you can’t get the full TonyBet experience via your mobile and/or tablet.

  1. Is the site well designed?

TonyBet home page

To put it simply, yes, we think it is.

TonyBet is slickly designed, well laid out, responsive and easy to use. It’s colourful in a way that isn’t garish, like Jupiter Club for example, nor too in your face like Royal Panda can be for certain customers.

Like we said before, this section is very much about preference but we can’t imagine anyone being too let down by its appearance. It treads the tightrope between the minimalism of Virgin Casino and Sportsbook and more extravagant sites like Rizk Casino. From a technical standpoint, there’s virtually nothing to complain about.

On the other hand

TonyBet live casino

TonyBet does seem to lack a distinct personality. There’s nothing wrong with the way it look but it’s hard to place what exactly stands out about TonyBet. This isn’t a disaster. The same can be said about the ultra successful Betfair or Betway. Plenty of people don’t need their betting sites to offer anything other than a great, slick, attractive site and it does just that.

Another criticism is that the site could use a little more distinction between the different site elements. There’s not too much shifting you from the sportsbook to the casino, so that could use a little work.

Nitpicking out the way, the design of TonyBet is undoubtably a success for the most part.

  1. What banking options are available?

TonyBet payment methods

Even if a casino offers everything you could possibly want, none of that really matters if they don’t offer a banking option to suit you. Aside from that, you want to know that these options come with reasonable terms. That means no nasty fees waiting in the wings if you decide to pay with something other than your credit card for example.

The following options are available for both depositing and withdrawing funds at TonyBet:

  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • Paysafecard
  • Visa/Mastercard
  • Paysera
  • Skrill 1 tap
  • ecopayz

On the other hand

That’s a decent number of payment options but it isn’t the best. It’s reasonable enough though. However, our main concern here is a complete lack of information on their payments page regarding transaction times or fees. There’s no excuse for leaving customers unaware of these facts.

This doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem here. We’ve seen plenty of sites where it’s the case that they don’t have this information available and those details are perfectly reasonable. But it’s an oversight that just shouldn’t happen, especially on a site as well designed as TonyBet.

  1. Are there any good promotions available?

There are currently 13 promotions available at TonyBet at the time of writing. We’re going to take a look at six, as they generally follow a similar formula and offer a comparable amount of value, so you can get an overview of what’s available:

  • We’re seeing Double:
    TonyBet We're Seeing Double bonus
Get 100% up to £100 on your first deposit bonus.
  • Starter Pack Treat:
    TonyBet Starter Pack Treat
Receive 20 free spins on the Starburst video slot when you sign up.
  • All Play and No Work:
TonyBet All Play & No Work bonus
On the casino game Piggy Riches, you’ll receive £1 for every £50 real money rounds you play on the game.
  • Formula for Loving Mondays:
TonyBet Formula for Loving Mondays bonus
Receive a 50% bonus up to £100 every Monday.
  • You Don’t Need Magic Dust to Win up to 100 Free Spins and More:
TonyBet You Don't Need Magic Dust promotion
It’s not the catchiest title but put simply, this is a prize draw which you enter by playing various games (10 rounds for Fairytale Roulette, 20 for Pyramid Roulette) for the chance to win various prizes, including free spins and cash.

On the other hand

Although having over a dozen games available is a very respectable amount, it doesn’t mean that there’s much variety on offer here. Really this feels like a few offers broken up to appear more impressive.

The terms and conditions are generally decent. The average wagering requirement here is 35 times and other promotions boast very simple terms, such as the prize draws. However, others, such as the Formula for Loving Mondays offer, only has a 50% bonus, significantly reducing the quality of that promotion. The Piggy Riches promotion offers just £1 per minimum of £50 played, which is the equivalent of a 50x wagering requirement.

Generally speaking, these promotions are mediocre, but not bad.

  1. What do you think overall of TonyBet?

TonyBet logo

Much like the response from the critics and the public, TonyBet feels like a site that’s sat right in the middle of the pack. However, unlike those responses, it’s not because of a series of dizzying highs and crushing lows.

Everything TonyBet appears to do is consistently average, with perhaps the exception of the quality of its casino. Its customer service is fine but is let down by limited service. The site design is well done but lacks a distinct personality. The promotions are plentiful but uninspiring.

We wish we could be as passionately against or pro this site as many of its commentators appear to be, but in the end, we feel that it’s hard to feel strongly about one way or another. It’s decent, but nothing special right now. However, if they could get all the site elements up to the standard set by its casino variety, that would be a very different story.
