  1. What does Scandibet have to offer?

We mentioned that ScandiBet has both a sportsbook and a casino. We sometimes refer to sites that contain at least these two elements as all in one betting sites. This is because they’re different to sportsbook or casino exclusives, with the latter being far more common. Usually, in order to remain fair and objective, we’ll make sure to compare all in one sites with more similar competition.

Scandibet betting highlights

The reasons for this are simple. They might all be betting sites but they have different target audiences and thus there are different expectations. You can’t expect Royal Panda or Rich Casino to offer much in the way of horse racing, for example. But that shouldn’t be considered a flaw the site, because it’s not part of the concept of a casino exclusive.

Usually though, there are exceptions to this rule. For example, it is reasonable to compare site design and style between these sites. That’s because a well designed site doesn’t heed to different standards dependent on the market.

With that out the way, let’s take a closer look at exactly what ScandiBet has in its arsenal.

The Scandibet offering

In terms of sportsbook, the following are available at the time of writing:

  • Football
  • Ice Hockey
  • Tennis
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Handball
  • Baseball
  • Motor Racing
  • Specials
  • American Football
  • Aussie Rules
  • Badminton
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • E-Sports
  • Floorball
  • Golf
  • MMA
  • Netball
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker and Pool
  • Speedway
  • Surfing
  • Table Tennis
  • Trotting
  • Virtual Sports
  • Winter Sports

We think that’s a very good selection of games. It’s certainly more than capable of holding its own amongst the very tough competition out there. Most customers will likely be happy with what’s available here.

Onto the casino side of things, you’ve got pretty much everything you might expect. There’s slots, jackpots, blackjack, roulette and more. They also have a great line up of providers, including Quickfire, NetEnt and Evolution Gaming.

This means that, not only are you getting a great amount of titles, but you’re also getting variety. You can even choose between games from different providers if you prefer a specific one or are looking to try something different. There’s also a reasonably stocked live casino, alongside live sporting options.

On the other hand

The only criticisms in terms of content would be the rather anaemic bingo selection. With sites such as Foxy Casino and BGO having such a strong focus on bingo, lovers of the game will likely flock there.

The poker selection is reasonable, but it’s unlikely to bother industry giants PokerStars any time soon. But then again, who does?

  1. What promotions are available?

At the time of writing, there’s a total of 7 promotions available at ScandiBet, which is nothing to be sniffed at.

We think you’ll find us running through all the different promotions and analysing their value to be rather boring: especially as promotions are one site elements which often changes with time. This means they may not all be there depending on when you’re reading this review.

So instead, we’re going to take a look at just four. This way, you can get an idea of what kind of offers you’re likely to see.

Here’s a couple we’ve picked at random:

Casino Start Offer:
Scandibet casino start off offerThis is your standard welcome bonus in concept, with three bonuses split across three days when you sign up. On day one, you’ll get a 100% bonus up to €200 with 50 free spins. For day two, you’ll get a 150% bonus up to €200 and 50 free spins. Finally, on day three, you’ll get a 25% bonus up to €400 and 100 free spins.

The wagering requirement starts off at 25 times on day one, which is reasonable. This keeps going down per day to 20 and then to 15. While this doesn’t quite make up for the drop in percentage, the increase in maximum bonus and spins on the last day is a good incentive. It’s clear that ScandiBet have made more of an effort than most to keep this offer valuable.

Sports Bonus:
ScandiBet sports bonusThis is another welcome bonus: this time for the sportsbook side of things. Here you can get 100% on your deposit up to €100. This has an absolutely excellent wagering requirement of 5 times, which is extremely competitive.

Viking Breakfast:
ScandiBet Viking Breakfast bonusIf you deposit €30 between 6am and noon, you can get a €20 boost, taking your funds up to €50.

Generally speaking, we’re impressed with what we’ve seen from their promotions page. They seem to feature bonuses that offer serious value and are brimming with personality.

On the other hand

Not all promotions are made equal. For example, the Viking Breakfast promotion has a granted bonus of 40 times. This seem quite out of character considering the standard already set by the welcome bonuses.

Another issue is that the promotions are lopsided in the favour of the casino. This is interesting as it suggests that the casino is the main focus of the site. Often, we find with all in one sites that the issue is the sportsbook is such a big priority. This often means the casino gets overlooked. We suppose that’s less of an issue when they wear their focus on their sleeve like Racebets. But an all in one is usually better when it strikes an even balance.

We’ll have to dig a little deeper to see if this is an issue with ScandiBet in any other areas.

  1. Is the ScandiBet site well designed?

ScandiBet site design

This part of the review is quite different to the rest in large parts. This is because when we’re talking about a website’s general style, it becomes a matter of preference. For example, Ladbrokes and William Hill have rather minimalistic, conservative styles. In contrast, somewhere like Manhattan Slots or Rizk Casino are far more adventurous. All are excellent examples of betting sites. Which you prefer simply depends on what you personally like better.

You might notice the most adventurous examples are casinos exclusives. This is usually the case. However, perhaps considering the focus of ScandiBet to edge towards the casino, this might also be reflected in their design choices.

In order to keep things fair, we won’t be presenting our opinion as objective fact. Instead, we will be saying what we think people will like and dislike about it.

The ScandiBet aesthetic

ScandiBet sportsbook

Here’s what positive things we think many customers will like about ScandiBet:

ScandiBet has a colourful Viking theme. Although it doesn’t run with it quite in the vain of somewhere like All British Casino, where the theme is the personality of the site, it nicely incorporates it in multiple places across the site. We think it injects personality without ever being overbearing.

A good standard for all in one sites that manage to walk the tightrope between a classic and new styles would be Betway or Betfair. And we think that ScandiBet fits nicely into that category.

Layout wise, there’s few surprises. But that’s not a problem, as their pleasant and colourful graphics inject personality into the site. We think these are some things that people will love about the design of ScandiBet. Even people who think ScandiBet isn’t for them are unlikely to find it in any way ugly.

In terms of the more objective and technical aspects of site design, we can say that it operated perfectly during our time using. We’ll be surprised if you have any issues in that department. We also found it easy to navigate and use, thanks to its crisp, clear layout.

On the other hand

We think other customers might not like how ScandiBet limits its theme. And on the flip side, there will be people who would prefer they kept things simple.

As we’ve said, ScandiBet is a nice mid-point between conservative and contemporary design philosophies in betting sites. While we think it does this successfully, some people simply prefer different things.

For our money though, we think ScandiBet looks fantastic and we’re confident a lot of people will share our view.

  1. What about customer service options?

ScandiBet live chat

Another happy entry here. ScandiBet offers customer support via e-mail and even via live chat. This can be reached 24 hours a day. You can’t ask for much more that that.

On the other hand

Well, we suppose if you were being picky, you could ask for a phone number to call for example. But this level of support should be perfect for most customers. Round the clock coverage is a huge bonus for any site in terms of the competitiveness of their service.

The contact options are hidden away at the bottom of the screen though. This is a rare flaw in the structure of the ScandiBet website.

  1. Are they licensed?

Malta Gaming Authority

Indeed they are. ScandiBet are authorised and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority. You can therefore rest assured that they are a completely legitimate operation.

On the other hand

Unfortunately, this license doesn’t cover every area. In alphabetical order, the following countries are not permitted to use the site:

  • Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Aruba, Australia, Azerbaijan
  • Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi

  • Oman

  • Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Uzbekistan

  • Wallis and Futuna Islands, Western Sahara
  • Yemen
  • Zambia, Zimbabwe.

As you can see, this is an extremely extensive list. It really limits the scope of ScandiBet’s potential customer base.

  1. What’s the general critical response been like to ScandiBet?

ScandiBet banner

The critical response to ScandiBet has generally been very good. It’s certainly better than most, with what seems to be a generally positive consensus from the majority of critics.

On the other hand

No site has perfect reviews and ScandiBet is no different. There’s certainly some negative critical feedback out there. But rest assured, it is far from being typical.

  1. What banking options are available?

ScandiBet payment options

The following payment options are available at the time of writing:

  • Neteller
  • Skrill
  • Paysafecard
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Trustly
  • Zimpler

On the other hand

Unfortunately, there is a lack of detail here. We would like to know more information about the payment types, such as if there’s any fees and estimated transaction times. Perhaps they are available somewhere on the site, but we could not find them.

  1. So, what’s our verdict on ScandiBet?

ScandiBet logo

The main issue with ScandiBet is that so many countries are unable to use it. However, if you are able to use ScandiBet, it looks like a rock solid choice for a betting site.

It’s colourful, fun, has good promotions, round the clock customer service and an excellent variety of betting options. Sure, it’s not perfect, with a few wrinkles here and there. But overall, we were very impressed with our time on ScandiBet.
