Punchbets Online Sportsbook and Casino Review

Punchbets Review

Punchbets is an exciting sportsbook and online casino with a specialty in the MMA and UFC arenas. Betting is now open to UK players and our in-depth Punchbets review takes a closer look at this brand’s features and offerings. We also test certain key areas including banking and support in our Punchbets test. Our expert opinions examine other factors including reputation (scams), registration, design and site usability.

How to get started with Punchbets

We begin our Punchbets review with a look at the Punchbets site in general. The first step of getting started with any site isn’t signing up, although we will get to that momentarily. It’s actually taking a look around the site yourself to decide whether this is a place you want to spend your time and hard earned money.

Punchbets sportsbook and casino

There are lots of things to think about when picking a sports betting and/or casino site, which we will look to cover within this review. However one thing we can’t account for is personal taste and preference, so it’s up to you to spend a good ten minutes or so getting acquainted with the site and getting to grips with what exactly it is you’re signing up for.

Not only should you look for whether the site pleases you with its style and personality, but also whether the site looks well put together. If a site looks great and navigates very well, it is extremely likely that level of effort has gone into other elements, such as the promotions, games, customer service etc. That’s not always the case but it’s a very good rule of thumb.

As mentioned, we cannot account for your personal taste, so our views on the look and style of the site may differ greatly to yours. That’s why we recommend here that you try it out for yourself before doing anything else.

Punchbets site design

Look and feel

Stylistically, Punchbets has a lot in common with what you would expect to find on any site focused on contact sports. Its logo features two men grappling and it is produced in a cold steel grey, as is a large portion of the background and the main toolbar. It’s a very simple layout here: logo at the top left, sign up at the top right, main toolbar just below, with boxed promotions below that and the page ending with additional information and links. These include deposit and withdrawal options, game providers, licensing, and some other general links.

In terms of navigation, this is something you’ll be very at home with if you’re a regular on the vast majority of betting sites. Everything from Foxy Casino to William Hill uses some variation of this layout. While there’s not much innovation, it all works well enough. Some things are cliché for a good reason.

Punchbets toolbar

Homepage

Generally the homepage looks great and works very well with the contact sports theme. Although, there is an odd lack of resolution on some of the upper text, particularly below the main Punchbets logo. Here the Casino, Sports and Lotto texts look faded, like they’re appearing on a late nineties video game.

This strange oversight aside, the homepage looks great overall. The other pages are just as good, with the sports page lifted right out of the likes of Ladbrokes, and that’s a compliment. The casino follows a sportsbook like layout as well, with the links to the left of the page and the featured games centred with big winners to the right. It’s not quite as good looking as the sports page, but it’s not that far off.

Overall, Punchbets doesn’t innovate with its design, but it does succeed both in terms of look and personality.

How does the Punchbets 300% up to €300 welcome bonus work?

Punchbets welcome bonus

This bonus is a first deposit bonus so in order to qualify for it, you must make a bonus with the minimum value of €25. You will then qualify for 300 free spins. If you deposit less than that, you will get 200 free spins. These are to be handed out over 4 days.

The wagering requirement for the welcome bonus money is 20 x the bonus and the deposit. This is around average in terms of value. There is no time limit listed on their terms and conditions, but please be aware that does not mean one does not necessarily exist. You do not need a Punchbets bonus code for the offer.

The betting offer at Punchbets

Punchbets casino games

Our Punchbets review show this site offers sports betting, eSports betting (virtual sports), a live casino games and two regular casinos (confusingly named Casino 2 and Casino 5). It has a very decent selection of casino games on offer, including:

  • slots
  • table
  • video poker
  • arcade
  • jackpot games

Many of the jackpot titles feature popular cultural themes, such as:

  • Rambo
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • 24
  • Rango
  • Bullseye

All these games are both fun and fair, which is all we ask for.

There are two live casinos on offer featuring roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker. There’s usually around three or four dealers available for each type of game so it’s a reasonable selection, especially for a site that is largely focused on sports betting.

The sports available are as follows:

  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Virtual Sports
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Ice Hockey
  • Table Tennis
  • Baseball
  • Handball
  • Boxing
  • Dota 2
  • League of legends
  • Counter Strike
  • Starcraft 2
  • Cycling
  • Halo
  • Badminton
  • Aussie Rules
  • American Football
  • Golf

Live Streaming and Live Betting

Punchbets live casino

Our Punchbets review could not test the brand’s live streaming offering. This is largely due to many of the sports available on the site being primarily shown on PPV. This results in Punchbets being unable to provide live streaming for the likes of UFC. This is of course the nature of the beast in terms of the market they are pursuing. Other sites, such as 888 and William Hill are good choices for streaming other sports live.

The site does however include live betting on a wide variety of sports, as well as a live casino with a wide selection of games to choose from.

Scams at Punchbets?

Punchbets game providers

There is no reason to believe that Punchbets is anything other than a legitimate site. The site is licensed under the government of Curacao, which while not as prestigious as other licensing bodies, is completely above board and legal.

There are no reputable reports of scams at Punchbets and all its games are confirmed to be random and fair. Most Punchbets opinions are also good, with criticisms generally revolving around the one note focus of the site. Their reputation among players is slightly better, probably related to the fact that the site makes no secret of its focus on MMA and UFC. Those that frequent the site don’t mind having a site specifically tailored to them.

The odds of Punchbets

Punchbets sportsbook

Our Punchbets test showed that the brand is rather well known for publishing odds way ahead of a big fight. This can allow players to take advantage of changing markets. In general, the site has a decent reputation among critics and players alike for its odds. As to be expected, this is especially true with regards to UFC. Most Punchbets opinions also praise the brand for its flexibility with betting options and the speed of its live betting system.

Examples of the odds on offer at Punchbets are:

Benavidez Joseph 1.52 – Henry Cejudo 2.35

Dustin Ortiz 2.55 – Jussier Da Silva 1.47

Renan Barao 1.20 – Phillipe Nover 4.05

Punchbets rating and summary

Punchbets logo

As a general sports and casino site, the brand did very well in our Punchbets review. It has a good selection of games and sports, with decent odds. Its promotions are competitive and it has a very pleasant site design and look. Customer service also did well in our Punchbets test. The site has decent feedback and its reputation, considering the size of the site, is pretty good among customer opinions too.

However, the site really comes into its own as a UFC/MMA focused sportsbook. In fact, it wears its mantle as a specialist site with pride. It can be seen from the logo to the focus of the homepage. This is the place to be if you want a betting site largely focused on those particular sports.

For someone looking for general sports betting sites, there’s probably better options out there: there’s certainly better casinos. However, as a specialist site it has few peers and it’s not half bad at everything else. Our overall Punchbets rating therefore puts it at the top for specialist sites. There are a number of other alternatives mentioned in this review for more general betting site options.
