ApolloBet Sportsbook Review

ApolloBet Review

Despite what its space aged name would suggest, ApolloBet is a site which plays things very close to its chest. Here, in our ApolloBet review, we’ll be unpacking whether or not this conservative approach works when we look at the site and what it has to offer.

It’s important to know that when you’re analysing the site’s design and appearance, in our ApolloBet test, that we can’t help you in terms of your preferences in a review. Some people love the themed sites like Manhattan Slots, while others enjoy more straightforward designs like Virgin Games Casino. So we always recommend you take a look for yourself and form your own opinions. But don’t worry, we’re here to guide you through, give some perspective on what we think the general customer response will be, as well as help you analyse things like site navigation and technical design.

We’ll also be looking at things that can be viewed much more objectively, such as banking, reputation, the games on offer, the odds on offer and we’ll also touch upon related points like customer service.

How to get started

ApolloBet site design

As mentioned, the first step is taking a look at the site yourself, as well as looking at this ApolloBet review to get another perspective and to guide you through what you’re seeing. One thing you may notice when opening up ApolloBet is how busy the site is.

This isn’t to the site’s advantage, as one of the design benefits of having such a traditional layout is you get to enjoy the space that opens up for site creators. There’s no ‘other’ homepage here that you see on betting sites like Dafabet or PRK Casino for example. This does go some way to explaining the somewhat jumbled look of the site.

Toolbar issues

Our ApolloBet review found the main issue is the toolbar at the very top, which includes an option to download apps for your mobile devices, a clock, some social media options, a help centre and a drop down list for odds and services. There’s always an issue with sportsbook sites that there’s too much information to convey in a stylish manner but many sites manage it less clumsily than this.

The top toolbar really squashes the page up and is indicative of many of the flaws found on this page. Other than its busy nature though, the site looks rather good and at the very least it does pull off the feat of everything being easy to find.

ApolloBet header

It has a nice red colour scheme, which will appeal to many and certainly seems very put together. Also to its credit is a different style for its casino and live casino pages: sites that stick to the sportsbook motif for this often come across as lazy.

The lottery page has a distinct style as well: one of which suffer from the busyness of the homepage. Still, there are worse things than being a little crowded and ApolloBet succeeds in most other design areas. Some won’t like its back to basics approach but that’s down to the individual.

There’s nothing fancy about the likes of Ladbrokes‘ design but people still come flocking back. This site doesn’t look quite as stylishly conservative as Ladbrokes, few do, but ApolloBet finds itself neatly placed beneath Ladbrokes and above competitors like Jupiter Club Casino.

Creating an account

If you like what you see and you’ve had a look through this review and decided to sign up, you can find a join now button tucked away at the top right of the page: regardless of where in the site you’ve ended up. From here, you’ll end up at a very simple application form. Our ApolloBet review is also designed to help you through the necessary registration process.

Step One

First of all, enter your title, first and last name. Next up, choose your currency and country. After this, you’ll be asked to enter your e-mail, mobile number and date of birth. Keep in mind, this information will be used to receive promotions, so make sure you choose information you don’t mind getting the odd bonus information through to. It will also be used to contact you if there are issues with your account, so you’ll also want to use something you check regularly as it may be discussing issues with your account. Considering this is a site where you’ll be inputting sensitive financial information, that’s information you’ll want to be privy to.

ApolloBet registration step 1

Step Two

Next, enter your address, including city/town and county. Pick a username and a password. The username must be between 6 and 15 characters in length, while the password must be between 6 and 30 characters in length. You’ll also want to keep your password safe by using one specific to this site and using a variety of letters and number. You’ll be able to choose from a drop down list of security questions and provide an answer which will be used if you have any issues with your password.

Step Three

Finally, you can set a deposit limit, agree to terms and conditions, hit the big green register button and you’re all set to go. We recommend you take full advantage of the deposit limits here, as they are an excellent way of making sure you don’t overspend and making sure you keep gambling fun.

How does the ApolloBet bonus work?

We take a closer look at how the bonuses work in our ApolloBet review. If you open an account with ApolloBet and deposit a minimum of £10, you’ll receive a free £5 free bet if you lose. On the face of it, that’s not a very enticing offer compared to the big money bonuses given by the likes of Foxy Casino or Royal Panda, or really, any of the major sites. In fact, that’s a lot smaller than most of the medium level sites, for example Vikibet has up to £100 while Lucky Red has up to $4000.

ApolloBet promotionsAs always though, it’s all about the terms and conditions. And it seems like this bonus is pretty much as straightforward as it appears: the bet must be of odds of 2.0 or more and expires within seven days. You do not need an ApolloBet bonus code for these offers.

So the money is low but it’s a very different bet to the type you get on larger sites, as there’s no rollover requirements. The issue here is many of those sites have similar bets to this but also have the large welcome bonuses to entice. Therefore, ApolloBet falls down somewhat in terms of variety.

ApolloBet test: banking

ApolloBet deposit methods

Our in-depth ApolloBet test closely examined the brand’s banking options. The following deposit options are available with ApolloBet. Simply sign up, head to your banking options and use one of the following methods to deposit funds:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Laser
  • Electron cards

Several countries among others, are not permitted to use credit or debit:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Germany
  • Japan
  • Switzerland
  • Iceland
  • Korea
  • Hong Kong
  • Belgium
  • Slovenia
  • Austria

That’s an extremely poor set of banking options and no information regarding processing time, minimum or maximum amounts or fees is available.

Live Streaming and Live Betting

ApolloBet in-play betting

ApolloBet has a decent, well laid out selection of in play live sports betting. It is genuinely a decent spread and easy to understand. There is no live streaming of sports, but that is to be expected for a site of this size. There’s also no live casino available, this left our ApolloBet test rather limited in this area.

Scams at ApolloBet?

There’s very little information on ApolloBet, with only a handful of customer opinions and reviews available: all of which do not report any suspicious behavior and conclude the site is average in this area.

The site is licensed by the government of Gibraltar, where many reputable sites gain licensing. At this moment in time, there are no known scams operating at ApolloBet and no accusations of the sort. In fact, most ApolloBet opinions are quite positive regarding the brand’s performance.

The odds of ApolloBet

ApolloBet sportsbetting odds

One of the sites four promotions is a best odds guaranteed on dog and horse racing, which does seem decent and it has reasonably competitive sports betting in general. Naturally, the odds of its casino games are not available, as there are too many variables involved to accurately measure them. However, there are no reports to indicate that the games are anything other than fair.

Here’s an example of the odds on offer at ApolloBet:

Ryder Cup 2016

Outright Live Betting

USA 8/13 Europe 7/4 Tie 8/1

American Football

BC Lions vs Ottawa 5/11 – 9/5

TCU VS Oklahoma 7/5 – 6/10

Idaho vs Troy 21/4 – 2/15

Football

Manchester United vs Stoke 1/3 – 4/1 – 9/1

Tottenham vs Manchester City 19/10 – 13/5 – 11/8

ApolloBet rating and summary

ApolloBet logo

Our ApolloBet reveiw found the issue with this site is there’s very little to separate it from the pack. It looks generic, sounds generic and has virtually no promotions or gimmicks that dent that perception. Not only that but its casino is lacking in variety, its banking options are uninformative and limited, even its customer service has no live chat feature, which is an absolute necessity to compete. All of these resulted in a rather average score in our ApolloBet test.

There’s little to no reason to choose this site over the many others that are available. That’s not to say the sites a disaster: it navigates fine in our test and isn’t an eyesore, most ApolloBet opinions are also positive. If you’re not too fussed about big promotions and mainly want to bet on sports, this will work fine. You won’t get ripped off or anything like that but if ApolloBet wants to get noticed, it needs to move beyond being just another sportsbook site. Our current ApolloBet rating set the brand somewhere in the middle of the field.
